Dr. Oliver Knoell
Dr. Knoell grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned a degree in biochemistry from Ohio State University followed by his medical degree from University of Toledo College of Medicine. He completed General Surgery Residency training in Pittsburgh at Allegheny Health Network, before completing a Fellowship in Advanced GI Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery in Fresno, CA with Advanced Laparoscopic Surgical Associates. He is board eligible by the American Board of Surgery and a member of several medical societies including the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
As both a general and bariatric surgeon, Dr. Knoell performs a wide range of minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic general surgical procedures. Obesity impacts all aspects of life and health and fortunately many options for treatment are now available. Common obesity related diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, infertility, sleep apnea (among many others) are often treatable or even curable with bariatric surgery. Dr. Knoell enjoys meeting his patients, customizing treatment plans to each individual person, and seeing patients live their happiest and healthiest lives. In addition to metabolic and weight loss surgery, his areas of interest include anti-reflux/foregut surgery, as well as a full spectrum of general surgery procedures. Performing general surgery through minimally invasive techniques allows patients to experience speedier recoveries, less pain and quicker return to living their best lives.
In his free time, Dr. Knoell enjoys spending time with his family, watching Big Ten football and enjoying the outdoors. The Knoells are excited to raise their children close to family and are thrilled to call Lincoln home.
