James Markman, M.D.
Dr. Markman Bio
Dr. Markman was raised in Michigan. He spent 4 years as an artilleryman in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division.
After discharging from active duty, he attended Hillsdale College and graduated cum laude with a Biology degree in biology. He then attended Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine (Grand Rapids, Michigan) where he received his medical degree. He completed his General Surgery internship, residency, and chief residency at Mount Carmel Health System (Columbus, Ohio). After this, he completed a fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery followship at Geisinger Health (Danville, Pennsylvania).
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He moved to Lincoln to practice Colon and Rectal Surgery, as well as continue to practice General Surgery. Particular clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, and colon cancer. He performs a wide range of laparoscopic and robotic surgery – as well as endoscopy & implantation of sacral nerve stimulators.
Dr. Markman continues to serve as a Commissioned Medical Officer in the United State Army – bringing an advanced surgical skill set to our Soldiers & their families alike!
