Dr. Fitzke Bio
Dr. Greg Fitzke is a board certified General Surgeon in practice in Lincoln since 2002. As an experienced surgeon, Dr. Fitzke practices all aspects of general & advanced laparoscopic surgery. This includes being one of few surgeons in Lincoln performing the “virtually scarless surgery”, the robotic-assisted, single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy. In his years of experience he has also become an expert in other areas of general surgery such as bowel and breast procedures.
In his early years, Dr. Fitzke attended Lincoln East High school, and stayed in Lincoln to complete his Bachelors of Science at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He then continued his education in medicine at the University Of Nebraska College Of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. The next chapter of his career took him to Kalamazoo, Michigan where he completed his internship, residency, and chief residency at the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. Dr. Fitzke has a passion for educating the next generation, and has won many awards including Michigan State University’s Resident Teaching Excellence Award three times over. He is also the recipient of the Robert H. Hume award for Excellence in Research. Locally, Dr. Fitzke sits on the board for the Lancaster County Medical Society, the Nebraska Medical Society, and is involved in many associations such as the American Medical Association.
After spending years away from home, Dr. Fitzke brought his wife, a Michigan native, back to Nebraska to join our practice. In his spare time Dr. Fitzke and his wife Dr. Molly Fitzke enjoy traveling, golfing, shooting sports as well as spending time with their three daughters.
